Why the employees at The Law Society of Upper Canada choose Daily Bread every season!
Our work is made possible because of thousands of loyal supporters and friends – individuals, corporations and teams of people working together to make their communities better places. The employees at Law Society of Upper Canada makes up one of these fundraising teams. For almost 20 years they’ve run a fundraising drive every holiday to benefit Daily Bread.
When asked why Daily Bread continues to be their charity of choice, Fatima Sousa, the co-chair of the charities committee doesn’t even have to think about her answer. “Our staff feel a special connection with Daily Bread, and it’s important to us that no one goes to bed hungry in our city. We host a fundraiser every year and through this we are able to contribute in a small way. We also encourage other organizations to do the same – hunger is a real issue and we all need to help out.”
And this holiday was no exception. Employees came together again and raised over $1,100 in their annual holiday drive. And according to Fatima, they’re already looking forward to next year. “We have so much to be grateful for,” says Fatima. “We want to make sure we do our part.”
